REHABILITATION

Rehabilitation of both sports related and non-sports related injuries begins with basic principles such as R.I.C.E. - rest, ice, compression, and elevation. While awaiting the completion of the healing process, individuals can and should maintain strength and flexibility of uninjured body parts. Maintaining aerobic fitness should also be part of the rehabilitation process providing this does not aggravate the underlying injury. Once the injury status is deemed medically stable, more region specific exercises can be initiated as will be demonstrated in this section. Exercises geared towards flexibility, strength, and endurance are emphasized.
