ELBOW REHABILITATION
EXERCISES:
STRETCHING EXERCISES:
- Wrist stretch

Performed with elbow held straight.

Use one hand to bend wrist of other hand down by pushing on back of hand and holding for 10 seconds. Do same maneuver in opposite direction and hold for 10 seconds.
- Forearm stretch

Performed with elbow bent at 90 degrees.
Turn palm upwards and hold for 10 seconds.

Turn palm down and hold for 10 seconds.
STRENGTHENING EXERCISES:
- Wrist flexion

Performed holding weight with palm up.

Bend wrist upwards and hold for 10 seconds and then slowly return to neutral position. - Wrist extension

Performed holding a weight with palm down.

Bend wrist upwards and hold for 10 seconds and then slowly return to neutral position. - Forearm pronation/supination

Performed holding a weight with elbow bent 90 degrees.

Rotate hand palm up and then palm down and repeat. - Elbow flexion


Performed in standing position holding weight with palm up.
Start with elbow straight and then bend towards shoulder and repeat. - Elbow extension

Performed with knee and opposite arm resting on bench so as to have back parallel to the floor and hip and knee bent at 90 degree angles.

Hold upper arm parallel to back and floor with elbow bent 90 degree and hand hanging down. With weight in hand slowly extend elbow upwards and backwards keeping upper arm parallel with floor.
